Graham Young

Member Partner

Graham has been a Partner at Cheyney Goulding LLP since 1995. Graham Young trained in the City and was admitted to The Solicitors Roll in 1985. After qualifying Graham continued to work in the City, before joining Cheyney Goulding LLP as a Partner in 1995.

Graham has considerable experience in Commercial Dispute Resolution and can assist on a wide range of contentious matters. He deals with cases in the High Court, County Court and Employment Tribunals. He also deals with Commercial Mediations, Arbitrations and references to the European Courts.

Graham is also a qualified ADR Group Accredited Mediator and specialises in Commercial Dispute Resolution.

Tom Marshall

Member Partner

Tom joined Cheyney Goulding LLP in 2004, and became a partner in 2010.

He specialises in corporate and commercial matters including corporate structures, shareholder and investor relations, corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions.

He also deals with a range of commercial agreements for businesses in relation to both their customers and suppliers, including agreements for the supply of goods and services, distribution, agency, IT and intellectual property.

Rebecca Gowing

Partner

Rebecca studied English and Russian at the University of Manchester before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the Guildford College of Law. She joined Cheyney Goulding in September 2008 and completed her training with the firm, qualifying as a Solicitor in April 2011.

Rebecca specialises in civil and commercial litigation and property litigation as well as commercial property, including acquisitions and disposals (freehold and leasehold), commercial leases and landlord and tenant matters and construction. Rebecca also has experience acting for clients in a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including buying and selling private companies and negotiating and advising on commercial contracts. Rebecca also regularly acts for lenders and borrowers on asset backed lending and secured and structured lending transactions.

Outside the office Rebecca enjoys keeping fit and attends the gym regularly. She also enjoys travelling, cooking, reading and spending time with friends and family.

Sam Major

Solicitor

Sam joined Cheyney Goulding LLP in June 2011 having graduated from Cardiff University and the College of Law. He qualified as a Solicitor in October 2013 having carried out his training contract at Cheyney Goulding LLP.

Sam advises in commercial dispute resolution in both High Court and County Court matters in areas including contract disputes, professional negligence and misrepresentation. His approach to litigation is based around managing risk and arriving at commercial solutions that do not necessarily involve the Courts.
He also regularly assists in all aspects of the registration of UK, Community and international trademarks and other contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters.

Outside of the office he enjoys a number of sporting interests including hockey and equestrianism as well as reading and travelling.

Christopher Seddon

Head of Private Client

Christopher qualified as a solicitor in 1980 and is an associate of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners). He spent many years as a partner with a leading Lincolnshire firm, and also ran his own practice for several years. He has always worked closely with Accountants, Tax Advisers and other professionals, to enable him to prepare and implement detailed strategies to effectively secure clients’ long-term objectives.

As well as handling Probate matters, he has, throughout his career, been drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney and other Estate Planning documentation, and continues to relish the challenge of helping clients plan successfully for their future.

In addition to his time in Private Practice in the UK, Christopher has also lectured internationally on Later Life issues and Estate Planning, and worked with Attorneys in USA on multiple cases. He has contributed to a book focusing on family finances and planning.

In his spare time, Christopher is still trying to master the guitar and piano, loves reading and enjoys travelling.

David Williams

Head of Residential Property

David studied law at the University of Wolverhampton, trained in Cumbria and was admitted as a solicitor in 1995. Since then he has practiced almost exclusively in Property Law and therefore has a wealth of experience in Residential Conveyancing. David joined Cheyney Goulding in 2021 to head up our Property Department. He brings with him a reputation for accessibility and clear communication, essential in providing a swift and stress free transaction.

 

In his spare time David enjoys Nordic Walking, archery and spending time with his grandchildren.

Sophie Barton

Solicitor

Sophie joined Cheyney Goulding as a Private Client Solicitor in October 2021 after completing her training. She studied English Language & Linguistics at the University of Kent before completing her Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law, Moorgate in 2018. She then continued her studies at the University of Law, completing her Legal Practice Course in 2019.

Elena joined Cheyney Goulding in 2017 after a short career break to dedicate time to her young family. She has over 20 years’ experience in legal accounts, 10 of which working with Top 100 law firms in the City of London.

Beth Fitzgerald

Beth joined Cheyney Goulding in April 2021. She studied for her LLB Law degree at Sussex University and graduated in 2018. She then went on to study at the University of Law in Guildford, where she completed her LPC and LLM in 2019.

Ezgi Almali

Ezgi joined Cheyney Goulding in April 2021.  She studied her LLB Law degree at the University of Law, Guildford and graduated in 2018.  She then continued her studies at the University of Law and completed her LPC and LLM in 2019.

Keri Castillo

Paralegal

Keri joined Cheyney Goulding in July 2021. She studied for her LLB Law degree at Liverpool John Moores University and graduated in 2020. She then went on to study at the University of Law in Guildford, where she completed her LPC and LLM in 2021.

Tristan Evans

Paralegal

Tristan joined Cheyney Goulding in September 2021.  He studied History at Swansea University, before completing the GDL at the University of Law, Guildford in 2020. He then continued his studies at the University of Law and completed his LPC and Msc in 2021.
